Big developments, small developments, and a tiny bit of fun marked our September at the MNT headquarters.
The Crowd Supply campaign of our space-saving fanless open hardware computer MNT Station—which you can use as a desktop, in your homelab, or mounted on a wall as an edge device/router—has ended.
A big Thank-You to all backers and, as always, to Crowd Supply (especially Brendan Nystedt). We are grateful for your support and will be organizing the production of parts in the upcoming weeks.
If you missed the campaign and don't want to wait until MNT Station is in our online shop, you can still put an order in on the campaign page.
Good news: the first batch of 2 went out last week!
If you wonder why 2 (instead of more): It's the first time we're shipping MNT Reform Next laptops, so we wanted to make sure that they go through customs and arrive safely at Crowd Supply. This process is more risky with a big batch, so we better start small. It seems like everything worked out as planned, so now we can ship batches containing more units.
Assembly is going well, but we had a small setback: around 50% of the trackpad's button boards weren't soldered correctly by the board house, so we had to rework them. Otherwise, things are moving fast and we'll be shipping out more batches in October and November.
The handbook looks pretty great, too:
As always, you can also access the handbook online as PDF version or HTML version.
A batch of 44 MNT Reform mainboards 3.0 are finally in production. This took longer as expected because one chip that is needed for the production took one month to arrive at JLC (and it was a complicated process to switch our PCBA manufacturing to JLC in general). We're glad that this difficult step is done, so we can (hopefully, if the boards pass QA) ship your orders in the coming weeks.

Fun things we've discovered using MNT devices.
Internally at MNT, we've been using a custom software for our TODOs and other stuff, coded by Lucie. She has now open-sourced it:
If you'd like to contribute (as have Annika Backstrom and Cosmic—thank you!), we welcome you to do so.
Liaizon discovered something nice during their Amiga testing sessions:
Franz Gratzer from the FSFE initially reached out to us for stickers and other MNT promotional material for the Veganmania summer festival, but it was a bit too short notice for us to provide anything other than permission to include us in a flyer that would be handed out to visitors of the FSFE booth. A review of the festival, which took place in Vienna at the end of September 2026, is now online. It's nice to see that many people who haven't had a lot of information on open source before are interested in alternative software and hardware when given information. Thank you, Franz, for including and supporting our efforts.
Fall is coming and will be exciting, we think. Thanks for reading our news updates and see you on here in one month or (nearly) daily on the Fediverse!
