BoostisBetterminute: as of recently the kd on the pocket just freaks out and is unresponsive. Not even hitting the reset button on the RP works. You have to completely shut the whole thing down. 09:32
BoostisBetterI have it up and can still control things with an external kb09:32
BoostisBetteris there some log you would want to help isolate this? 09:32
+ mjw (~mjw@gnu.wildebeest.org)09:38
minuteBoostisBetter: i think it's time to send you a replacement. perhaps the rp2040 is slightly damaged.09:41
[tj]wayfire is terrible to configure09:42
BoostisBetterminute: that would be great! Since no one else is complaining I think that might actually be the case. 09:48
BoostisBetterminute: what do you need from me for that? 09:49
+ Ar|stote|is (~linx@149.210.20.201)09:53
minuteBoostisBetter: nothing afaik we have a support ticket for that since a longer time09:54
BoostisBetterminute: ok, just know that I still love the Pocket despite the KB problems. 09:56
minutefor me, usb/keyboard not detected after new cold start have stopped somehow recently on rk3588? i need to do more systematic tests because it happened only around 10% of the time, but don't remember when it happened last time and using pocket daily10:26
minute(in case a recent kernel fixed it)10:26
BoostisBetterminute: I have been using my Pocket daily. It has been running consistently until the keyboard crashing required a power cycle. 10:56
BoostisBetterminute: curious that you are seeing kb issues with the RK. I can tell you that on my own kb it seems like the hyper key (diagnoal arrow) is a trigger. If you use it, and especially if you hold it down, the crashing of the keyboard almost always happens then. 10:57
BoostisBetterI am trying ot limit the use of that, and not using the key to adjust backlighting on the kb, in order to see if it is staying stable then. 10:57
minuteBoostisBetter: ok that sounds weird10:57
minutethen your kb rp2040 is very probably broken10:58
BoostisBetterminute: ok. Makes sense. I will say that when I use amospalla's rmt tool to manually set the kb backlight it doesn't seem to have an issue. But I haven't been tracking this issue long enough to say if this is definitive or not. 11:00

BoostisBetterminute: do you know if ch's updates to the sysctrl firmware have been merged? I am still on his branch currently, in case that matters wrt my kb issues.14:03

BoostisBetterI got picotool sorted on debian stable (had to compile it myself)14:37
BoostisBetterbut now I can't remember how you get the sysctrl rp to in a load able state14:38
BoostisBetterminute: the script never worked for me and I always had to manually use the picotool load command14:38
minuteBoostisBetter: if you have some patience i'll put all the infos there. if not, you can figure out reform-mcu-tool14:38
BoostisBetterminute: patience it is. Thanks! 14:39

noamminute: silly question if it's alright, what'ss the part number for the 4.7ohm resistors between the LFP cells and the PMV50EPEAR mosfets? 16:29
minutenoam: iirc i've changed these to 10 ohms nowadays16:29
- chomwitt (QUIT: Ping timeout: 246 seconds) (~chomwitt@2a02:587:7a11:2500:1ac0:4dff:fedb:a3f1)16:31
noam...if I'm swapping them out on the 2.0 mobo, should I swap all eight to 10ohm while I'm at it?16:31
noamOr is that change related to other changes?16:31
noamI haven't lookewd at the MOSFET datasheet since I hadn't figured out how to test them just yet :/16:32
minutenoam: you can choose any value that you're comfortable with but they should be rated 1.5W min.16:46
minutenoam: 10 ohms doesn't get that hot16:46
minutenoam: if it wasn't clear, these are balancing (discharge) resistors. so if a cell has too high voltage compared to the others, a bit of charge is burnt off through these resistors. a smaller ohms one will do it faster but might get very hot16:47
minutenoam: sorry, for the latest version i'm using 15 ohms, 1W rated, 2512 size. TE CRGCQ2512J15R16:48
noamminute: gotcha, thank you!!16:55
noamI suspect three of those resistors melted because of a steep imbalance caused by the other crap that was going on in the mainboard at the time >_<16:56
noam...or just from the voltage spikes, realistically.17:06
