bremnergordon1: by hotplugging to you refer to physically removing the daughter-card?00:16
gordon1bremner: yes, i assumed that's what you meant00:17
bremnerah, no just disconnect from the PCI(e) bus00:17
gordon1right, nvm then, just echo 1 > into sysfs pci bus device/remove should be fine00:18
gordon1i always test the pci subsystem that way, you can also ask it to rescan by echo 1 > rescan00:18
bremnerah cool, thanks.00:22

minutejosch: i've now tasked one of our freelance devs with EDK2 port for pocket reform, lets see how it goes :314:04
minute(for rk3588)14:04
+ bkeys1 (~Thunderbi@98.19.131.193)14:07
joschyaaaay :)14:08
minutejosch: i've forked the repo over to https://source.mnt.re/reform/reform-edk2-rk3588 and also added developer access for you in case you want to play around with something later / add to our build/CI scripts etc14:09
joschthank you, yes i'd love to try this out14:10
joschi don't think this changes something for our system images because rk3588 prefers emmc over sd-card14:10
joschshipping edk2 with the system-images would only make sense for those who wiped their emmc14:10
minutethat's right. if it goes well we can ship it on emmc for future batches though.14:11
joschi'm also very interested about the proprietary blobs that go into the build process because ideally, we could upload this to debian even if it's to non-free14:11
joschyes, that'd be nice14:11
joschand imagine you could at some point ship the reform next with edk2!14:14
joschoh speaking of the next -- i had a hand-ful of students today who *knew* that this was the reform and who told me they were eagerly following the reform next campaign but just lack the funds. It was nice to hear that knowledge about MNT devices seems to make its rounds. :)14:15
- paperManu (QUIT: Ping timeout: 244 seconds) (~paperManu@64.58.44.160)14:16
joschminute: could you enable the gitlab CI runner for https://source.mnt.re/reform/reform-edk2-rk3588 my MR pipeline seems to be "stuck" :)14:22
+ paperManu (~paperManu@modemcable141.205-200-24.mc.videotron.ca)14:31
chyeah edk2 would be cool... i guess uboot could also boot edk2 as payload and we get display then?14:32
ch(i saw the toot but i'm already out of time)14:33
chorcyay, edk2, that would open the road for BSDs14:45
minutech: if that's possible, that would be awesome, but you know more than me14:48
minutechorc: exactly14:48
minutejosch: oh awesome to hear @ students14:49
minutejosch: btw how did your trackpoint experiment go?14:49

jfredmmm I'd really like to get edk2 running on my reform at some point, I feel like that could make a lot of things easier15:43
jfredit's harder to justify messing with my setup when my reforms are my primary computers though! XD15:43
jfredAt least in ways that could make it unbootable. I do lots of tinkering with guix on it, haha15:44
joschminute: i didn't get further than the last status update you saw because I was on holidays for the past five weeks. I now have to find or 3d-print a suitable stem. I made one but it's too thick and i have to iterate on the design. 3d-printing this is a bit suboptimal because the stem needs to be quite thin15:58
