minutethe secret konami code to make the GPU stable was > cpupower -c 0 idle-set -D 212:13
minutecurrent theory is that cpu0 is handling SPMI IRQs and if it sleeps a bit too long, those can be missed. so the exit latency of this cpuidle state in the device tree is probably too low and the kernel miscalculates that the cpu will be available on time12:15

lidstahin the reform, it's a raspberry pi 2230 256GB one (really, a samsung one), with a 2230 to 2280 adapter (and hello, btw!)13:31
lidstahback in the days, I had one nv3 as spare I intended to use with the reform, but I ended up needing it to replace a way too hot samsung nvme one (that controller reaching 112°C even when properly cooled bothered me a bit too much)13:34

If you don't get any feedback by the time I receive the laptop and installed it, will let you know if does work or not. It will be sad if doesn't work, but won't be an issue.14:34

siviqlidstah Hello, I see you've been adding more games to the list recently :)16:34
lidstahindeed :)16:40
lidstahnow I need to find more games to test ^^'16:41
siviqI'm sure Steam has endless library. It's another story how much interesting most of them are :) I'll also try some of the titles on my Steam library. However, I wish I had kept the DVDs with games I had. Not sure where lost them along the way. '=D16:52
lidstahI do have a list of roguelikes I intend to get on steam when the summer sales will kick in16:52
lidstahfor e.g. rogue empire16:56
lidstahoow, it's in sale rn, <6 bucks16:56
lidstahI should also test Wayward, which I have in my library16:59
lidstahmmh, might test it tonight if I have time17:00
siviqI used to buy the 'humblebundle' game editions. If you're not familiar with them, check them as they have good deals all the time too.17:10
lidstahindeed, should have a look there too17:13
siviqI managed to get good titles for really good price. Hope you find something good there. Usually steam key is provided, which is handy17:17

lidstahand I thought the screen would have been trickier, but that's easier than I thought. Not easy per se, but not that hard, just had to take my time and think twice18:02
lidstahbut I'm so happy it was just a software fix in the end :)18:05
siviqYey, really good. :) I have ordered on purpose the MNT Reform instead of the little brother Pocket, due to more internal space and larger form factor. Easy access to all components too. You should see how I had TB backlight LED replaced... nightmare, complete nightmare. And it never ended up like factory.18:06

siviqReally hope some day manufacturers make technology again easy to repair. It's not justified to throw away tech because of single component failure.18:08
lidstahindeed18:09
lidstahI still have nightmares of replacing a keyboard on an hp laptop more than a decade ago18:09
lidstahthat thing was... awful. Litterally had to curb the keyboard by pushing with screwdrivers from both sides to get it out of the laptop18:10

siviqI call that "screw festival" At least not glued to the chassis :D18:12
lidstahat least they were all identical18:12

Chwokai like to fix things and will drive computers (and cars) until the wheels come off. my first laptop when i was a kid was a toshiba satelite and by the end of its lifespan the screen was held together with duct tape, i had replaced the keyboard like three times, and the ports had toothpicks jammed into them and broken off to get them to work20:56
