sigridjosch: same error as yours00:01
sigridbbb_sunflower_1080p_60fps_normal.mp4 plays normally00:01
joschoooooh00:02
joschthen it's about the video being 4k00:02
joschokay, that's great i don't need to play 4k content on this micro screen XD00:02
sigridhttps://github.com/cazou/v4l2top00:06
joschrequires a patched kernel :/00:09
sigridyep00:10
joschsigrid: thank you for the tip -- i can confirm bbb 1080p@60 also works perfectly in clapper. I'm uploading clapper 0.10.0 to unstable now.00:10
sigridnp00:13
sigridI should also note that patched mpv plays 4k one just fine00:17

joschawesome! lets flash it :)19:41
joschminute: an alternative to zero-ing emmc is to run this: reform-flash-bootloader --zero emmc19:43
joschthe advantage of using reform-flash-bootloader is, that it checks where the partitions are and will refuse writing into space occupied by a partition or the partition table19:44
minuteah nice, i can update that19:51
minutehere are some photos of what it's supposed to look like https://mastodon.social/@mntmn/11677237325518417819:51
minutejosch: i realize i didn't do extensive testing on display v1 yet... do you have v1 or v2?19:53
+ paperManu (~paperManu@bras-base-mtrlpq0776w-grc-27-65-94-77-56.dsl.bell.ca)19:55
minuteand updated OpenBSD instructions https://source.mnt.re/reform/mnt-reform-barebox/-/blob/main/README-mnt.md#booting-openbsd19:56
joschminute: can you remind me how to find out? (i fail to find it in the irc log)19:58

joschminute: i successfully flashed barebox by running: sudo reform-flash-bootloader --image barebox-mnt-pocket-reform-rk3588.img sd20:08
joschadvantage over dd is that it automatically uses the right offset (no type possible) that it reads back the bootloader from the sd-card (sanity check) and that you can write "sd" or "emmc" instead of remembering whether its mmcblk0 or mmcblk120:09
joschi first get a MNT logo in the upper right, a prompt on the upper left asks me to press any key to interrupt boot20:09
joschif i ignore that, i get a fraction of a second sideways output and then normal boot resumes20:09

jfred:O okay I need to try this soon. graphics in the bootloader would be huge for me20:57
minutejosch: very nice, that's exactly how it should work21:02
minutejosch: thanks for testing!21:02
minutejosch: for the display version, for example you can do: sudo dmesg | grep panel. if it mentions display v2, you have that :D21:03
minutei'm trying right now to find a patch where i added the ability to limit the lanes of rockchip's eDP controller...21:04
minuteah found it https://source.mnt.re/reform/reform-debian-packages/-/commit/74d993dfc53f4081f35711316a0510295712689b21:06

rick_yaay, i flashed it too. looks also good on my end, except somtimes the keyboard doesn't seem to work.. if its not working in barebox i get the error: usb2-0-2 unable to get device descriptor (error-110)21:47
rick_here is a bad photo of it: https://mediaproxy.n0id.space/media/4f6559ac459d43f15abc19ecd3d5238431fdeb46b5a55fb2dfcc8996ad98798d.jpg21:47
rick_josch i also have the brightness problem rn again, reloading kernelmodule reform2_lpc didn't help ^^v should i test sth or reboot again?21:48
joschminute: i got display v222:02
joschso odd to have something show up on the display just after pressing the on-switch... feels like imx8mq!22:05
joschalso, the pocket reform panel version can be accessed via /sys/devices/platform/fde30000.dsi/fde/30000.dsi.0/mnt_pocket_reform_panel_version22:07
joschi should expose this in reform-check22:07
rick_Ohh according to my internet search my keyboard problem has sth todo with to less power.. And it seems it is? When the pocked is plugged in during boot the error is gone and keyboard works in barebox22:09
- spew (QUIT: Quit: nyaa~) (~spew@user/spew)22:19
rick_another positive thing about barebox: my external display has now the right orientation during boot XDD22:22
joschminute: panel version is now in reform-check output. I see that barebox sets /proc/device-tree/chosen/barebox-version. I'm going to add that as well, okay?22:23
